Happy New Year !

Woah, its been a looooong time since my last update !  Far too long.

Lets start with a Happy New Year to you all !

Lots of things happening in the world of WOW.   I had huge fun today gathering my ‘Red Transmog Set’.

Its basically made up from the Cindercloth tailoring gear along with a cpl of matching pieces – the helm took about 10 resets in Blackrock Depths before it dropped ! But it was worth the wait.  I like to be different and not follow the norm of what most other ppl have transmogged !

So, 4.3  Dragon Soul Raid – Such fun !   My guild is @ 1/8 hc 25man currently.  Enjoying it more than Firelands which in the end felt like too much of a grind.

Still loving Discipline Spec – but also loving Holy spec too ! and thats something id never thought would happen !

Anyway just a short n sweet update – more to come in the next few days.

ciao for now !

Progress… and Standing in Bad

Firelands is going very well for NoQ  currently 1/7hc – still steadily holding Realm 1st [25m].  We hope to have Rhyolith H nailed this lockout with some nice shinys for some –not me tho, im so far down the EPGP PR list its not funny !

Been messing about with my UI again and i have FINALLY settled on this one –

As expected Shannox Heroic 25 was a walk in the park…almost ridiculously easy.  The jump between Shannox H and Rhyolith is very much industrail sized with rhyolith being very RNG…just when u think ur not standing in bad – u are ! –   Very movement intensive encounter – sure keeps the healers hearts pumping…. we are 6 healing Ryolith currently, our usual setup is Holydin, Disc Priest, Holy Priest and 3 [yes 3] Druids.

Atonement spec just wasnt working for me on this encounter.   Granted it did the job of keeping the spark tank up but with almost 150k mana I can afford to drop a lot more shields on the raid to lessen the raid damage some what, therefore the non-smite spec was working much better.   2 points in Veiled shadows for the reduced Shadow Fiend is a must when shield spamming 🙂   I also picked up desperate prayer – ideal for the many times when standing in bad cant be helped and u need to finish that big heal cast on ur tank. [or for the times youre distracted momentarily whilst drinking a glass of wine]….

I do find myself shuffeling talent points around depending on the encounter.   Atonement spec feels fairly redundant in this tier apart from on shannox and staghelm which is a shame because I like my gnome wings

Everyone is raving about the super awesome Moonwell Chalice trinket from the Molton Front daily quests, I have this bound up in a macro along with Power Infusion – the combination is awesome if u treat the it like a raid cooldown.   Pop this and spam your heart out with Prayer of Healing spam.    All those shiny Divine Aegis bubbles will get huge !..particularly useful for Ragnaros if you use the ‘stacking in the midle’ for seeds tactic.

Anyway, have fun in Firelands, im back in there myself this evening trying to dodge volcanos and those pesky little adds /fade

ciao for now x

Slacking…[with good reason !] Oh and Realm Rank 1st \o/

Hey All !

Yep, im a slacker, ive neglected this blog for a long time….so much has happned, and so much is going on in my personal life which leaves little time for writing things interesting enough for other ppl to appriciate reading !

So, shinypriest ‘whats been going on ?’

Well, As well as making Officer in my guild No Quarter, fundraising for my beloved sister and buying a new Puppy
…ive managed to squeeze in a few Firelands Boss Kills.  The guild made it to Realm 1st for 25man and we are steadily holding that place.

I think my favourite encounter thus far is Beth’tilac…although not the most challenging of encounters from a healing perspective i just love climbing the spinners web upto the top!  Havent appreciated jumping down to not have any webs stretch out to grab me to break my fall…think ive had 2 deaths because of that so far. [splat]

Anyway..who loves the healing challenge of Baleroc ? yep, another awesome fight, buff watching etc… Ive got some nice Powa Aura’s im using for Vital Spark and Vital Flame..will update the PA section later today.

The guild has a few boss kill videos of the  Firelands Bosses we have downed so far on our dedicated Youtube channel     http://www.youtube.com/user/NoQuarterEU

… The 4% wipe on Staghelm was crushing on sunday, loveing that fight too – again it pushes healers to the max.  And gives me a headache juggling all the raid cds lol.  We are pretty comfortable going with a 7/5/5 scorpion phase.  No need to use anything stronger than a Divine Hymn or 2 for the first Scorpion phase as healing isnt that much of a big deal.

On the second scorpion phase it gets a bit mental – we started blowing cooldowns on the 2nd stack thru to the 4th and immediately spread on the 5th.

The third scorpion phase is somewhat ‘easier on healing’ than the 2nd scorpion phase due to the fact noone has ‘seeds’ and therefore the incredible raid damage is properly shared, again start blowing CD’s from stack 2 and try to ‘overlap’ them thru to 5 when the raid breaks to spread out for the Burning Orbs.

The Orbs are a relative non-issue so long as you can communicate and are standing with another player so you can alternate stacks [dont go above 5 stacks or your healers will get pissed]

On the following scorpion phase he needs to die – or you surely will….burn DPS, pots, heroism, and ANY remaining raid healing CDs necessary to get the kill…. I reckon my guild will have this boss nailed this lockout..and then onto Raggy

This leads me onto my new puppy ‘Diesel’ she is a gorgeous Staffordshire Bull Terrier and despite the bad press staffys have had she is the most loving loyal dog, she has given me new focus and companionship in what is an incredibly difficult time for my family.

Enjoy firelands.

Ciao for now !

Valiona Heroic: Done … Oh and Maloriak Heroic: Done

We have been busy these last few days making much progress through content, first downing the twin dragons and then last night downing Maloriak.  Has to be said, Maloriak is a relitively easy fight in comparrison to Valiona !

Tonight we head to Conclave !

Check out the smexy title after the Maloriak Kill last night, shame its not a permenant title !

pretty awesome eh ? also picked up a shiny tier token for the legs too !

Unfortunately we didnt FRAPS the Maloriak kill last night – but we do have the Valiona kill – frapsed by out favourite Mage Peedyweedy.

Enjoy !

Ciao for now ❤

An Appeal For Help

A post from the heart…

My dear sister is begining the biggest fight of her life, for her life.  Recenlty she was diagnosed with Brain Cancer, an inoperable tumor of the most aggresive kind.

Time is of the essence.   A fund has been set up to help raise some money for pioneering treatment in america since here in the UK, the only ‘treatment’ is Chemotherapy & Radiotherapy which at best will only slow down the growth rate of the tumor.

Shes a young mother with a gorgeous son who needs his mummy.  Please take a few moments to read Lauras Story, and if you can, any donations or help is greatly appreciated.

In the meantime, cherish the people you love, life is too short.

Atramedes 25Heroic

The guild killed this blind dragon a few weeks ago on heroic mode but only last night was I able to sucessfully FRAPS the kill.

Please note  –  I put this Vid together last night, very late, so didnt realise the noob spelling mistake until this morning when i watched the vid on Utube !   oh dear…. nvm eh… could have been worse i suppose.  Anyway disregarding the spelling error it was certainly a nice clean kill, and i was able to DPS Atonement Heal for most of the encounter which was nice.

Anyway – big post incoming soon !

ciao for now.

Blackwing Descent – Elevator Boss Stats

Bam !

Elevator Boss is indeed one of the hardest bosses that ppl just take for granted that they can faceroll when clearly they cant.

I guarantee there is at least 2 deaths per raid on the Ele Boss !

Numerous Guides to defeat this boss are available on various forums.  Beware of Elevator Boss in Hard Mode – aka the Life Gripping Priests – one minute youre running in one direction stepping off the elevator – the next- bam! youre on your way back up to the top.

Hardmode at its finest.

There are various achievments assiciated with the boss – such as Nitro Boots + Cloak Parachute + Dodging the Life gripping Priest as well as hoping the Nitro Boots wont Leak and kill you on your way to Chimaerons room.

Oh the Joy – nice to see once again Blizz have a sence of humor.

ciao for now !

4.1 The Bugs, The DC’s and … ZG

Zul Gurub…what the heck is up with that place…  2 hours to complete the dungeon ….. really ?

346 ilvl required to get into either ZG or ZA and believe me for ZG you will need a degree in how to move out of bad, so so much bad that can kill you.   I consider myself to be a well geared disco priest who does know how to move but OMG…lost count of the number of times we wiped on Venoxis.   [it has since been hotfixed before anyone calls noob]

Lots of other wierd bugs with ground effect spells such as HW:Sanctuary, Efflorecence, Healing Rain and PW:Barrier.  Last night we were unable to overlap any of the healing circles nor cast them on an uneven surface.  The mages, hunters and druids were also experiencing similar ‘bugs’ with targeted spells such as treants.  My ticket to a GM was answered today and they are ‘ looking into it’ ….. GM’s are strange ppl… he even told me a ‘joke’ …..

Lots of DC’s too..which kindly reset an entire dungeon for us several times not to mention the DC at Halfus which kicked us all out of raid group and respawned all the trash !!!!!  /grrrrr

Anyway, enough blah from me for now, I will leave you with a screeny of one of our hunters stuck in the doorway to BWD….. [literally stuck in the skulls mouth]….

Ciao for now.

Magmaw 25 Heroic – The Video

As promised in my last post – here is the Video [s] of our Fire Mage kiting the Parasites on the Heroic 25man encounter.

My job as the Disco Diva Priest was to keep him alive as well as throwing out some Shieldz and Healz on the Hunters who stood out from the Boss. [Remember – having at least 5-6 ppl standing out from the boss will mean the pillar of flame will always spawn on one of those ppl rather than in the melee]

Keeping out of the Ignition Fire on the ground can be a tricky thing when youre trying to Heal on the run.  Inner Will can be helpful here – the 10% movement increase can be a god send.

I chose a ‘non-atonement spec’  picking up 3/3 in Inner Sanctum.

Whilst in ‘Inner Fire’ stance the 6% spell damage reduction has to be a bonus here with all the fire and shadow damage all over the place.  Switching stances is simple enough to do should the need arise – for example Inner Will if mana is getting low so your instant cast spells are that much cheaper.  If you watch through my video you can see I didnt even have to use Hymn of Hope as I managed my mana pretty well by keeping an eye on the cooldown of  Tyrandes Favourite Doll and a well timed Potion of Concentration.   I saved my shadowfiend for the last phase – the mana regen boost of the fiend was enough to allow me to throw out a few extra shields and heals as everyone was spreading out and taking a shed load of OP damage.

Here we go – This is the first Vid from my POV.

And this one is from our Fire Mage’s POV.

Enjoy & ciao for now  :))

Magmaw 25Heroic.. DK? Who Needs A DK When You Have A Fire Mage ?!?

Yep, as the title says – You dont need a Death Knight for Kiting the parasites on Magmaw 25 Heroic !

Our resident Fire Mage took on the hefty task of kiting the adds throughout the encounter, and it has to be said he did a damn good job of it, blinking and dodging the ignition fire on the ground.  We all know Mages are aggro machines so keeping and gaining aggro on the Parasites was pretty much a breeze for him. Lots of Blast Wave, Flamestrike spam and then Blink if the adds got too close.

Again we used the ‘stacking up on melee’ strategy with just 6 ppl standing out which consisted of Myself, The Mage, 3 x Hunters and a Resto Shaman. With at least 6 ppl standing out you are guaranteed the Pillar of Flame will spawn ‘outside’ rather than on the melee.

We downed him on our 2nd attempt, and as the bubbling disc priest of the raid looking after the kiter i have to say it was a lot easier keeping the Mage up than the DK we used the previous time lol !

Now, the bad news… Not expecting the Mage kiting to actually work out – none of us were prepared with FRAPS or WOL !  /epic fail.   We will be fully prepared next time tho !!

So next time someone in your raid says Magmaw 25 heroic isnt doable without a Frost DK – you can send them here !!

Ciao for now 🙂
